As adults we all look back at our childhoods and fondly remember the times when we didn't have a care in the world. Children were allowed to be children. Too many preschool programs are like military schools with all discipline and no play time. There is no opportunity to be young. We want positive reinforcement we believe is important for our children to develop self-esteem. Children need an atmosphere that supports free expression and stimulates learning. Our children need to have fun!

Giving your child over to strangers to rear during the day seems like a part of your heart is being left behind. This is why you would want a day care center that has dedicated, full-time employees who do not change every month. They need to be stable. If you find yourself in this position, when you visit potential day cares inspect the room where they keep the infants. Is it a warm, secure, and comforting setting? When you see the teachers interacting with the babies is there lots of hugging, cuddling, singing and talking to the little ones?
Maybe due to a new job or home you are searching for a daycare for your toddler. He or she may have already been in a daycare situation or perhaps a parent was able to stay at home until this time. You will consider your search to be just as important as a family with a new baby.
No one has to tell you that your toddler is inquisitive. This is why you have had to 'baby proof' your home. It seems that when a new item is found, the toddler always has to see how it tastes! When you search for a toddler daycare you want a school that encourages their curiosity with fun, hands on activities. Manipulating toys and playing pretend are just some of the ways children discover more about the world. Also, because making friends and playing well with others is becoming more important, the day care should spend time doing large and small group activities every single day.
You will be able to tell if you selected the ideal daycare by how well adjusted your child acts when he or she returns home with you each evening. A happy child is a well-cared for child.
