Most people in this economy, regardless of what their profession may be, are doing what they can to keep the food on the table. I know that a lot of commercials on TV and other places say that a down economy is the best time to go back to school because it gives you a competitive edge in the job market, but who has the time? If you're working to pay your bills, then not working and adding a college debt doesn't seem like a prudent financial decision. That's where an online intelligence degree comes into play. If you need to keep working, but want that added competitive edge in the job market, then doing schooling online at your convenience makes the most sense. Plus, if you're looking into studies in intelligence, then you may already have the GI Bill. With the Post 9/11 GI Bill, some qualified students could go to school, have their tuition paid, and could receive a monthly housing stipend.
For me it worked out great, because I was able to complete my degree completely online, with an experienced and well-versed staff while still working a full-time job and getting supplemental income through the GI Bill. So if you are in the same boat that I was, considering an online intelligence degree is definitely something you should do. You can get ahead in your career goals while getting paid to do so at the same time. Yeah, I admit that it's a whole lot of work, but it is absolutely worth it. Just make sure that you fully investigate the school you want to attend and make sure they are a legitimate and accredited institution. Also, many schools will offer degrees in this and that, but don't really have the expert faculty to back it up. Check out the school and take a peek at the faculty biographies. That should tell you a lot about a school.
If you're willing to make the sacrifice, then it is definitely worth the time and effort. At the very least, even if the degree doesn't help to advance your career, you can think of it as a part-time job. It's one of the most rewarding jobs that you'll ever have. Seriously, should anyone ever turn down getting paid to learn anything, let alone something as interesting as intelligence?
