Most people think that living off campus is a terrible idea especially when they are just joining the institution. But truth be told, students who live off campus have the best experiences and it doesn't mean that they always score the least grades. Living off campus can be a fun and rewarding experience but you must learn to manage your time well so that you don't skimp on your studies. Here are some amazing tips to take you through life off-campus.
Choose the apartments wisely
Don't just rush to sign a lease before you inspect the apartments you'll soon call home. Sometimes you might be tempted to rush and sign up for an apartment because of financial necessities but there are things it's never worth compromising on. First, you need to make sure that a home inspection is done before you get in so that you don't end up paying for pre-existing damages. Also make sure you get an agreement in writing that stipulates the rules for giving a notice and moving out.
Choose a suitable location
Check to confirm that the off-campus apartments will be easily accessible during the times when you'll be rushing for class. There are areas which are known for crazy traffic jams. The last thing you want is getting stuck in traffic every day and arriving to class late.
Check the state of the apartments
Students apartments are usually well maintained because landlords are faced with high competition but you should always visit the apartment to check for yourself. Make sure that all the appliances in the apartment are in good working condition and that the gas and electricity is connected and functional. You must also check the paint to make sure it's in proper condition. Bathroom fixtures need to be working properly too. Make sure you check all the areas and take note of signs of water damage or mold.
Consider security
There are certainly areas off campus that are known to be insecure. We'd suggest you tick them off your list when shopping for a location. You can't compromise on your security even if the rental fee is extremely low. Consider the times when you'll be coming late from class and going home when it's dark. If possible, look for rental apartments that have many students living in it. Don't just look for a private family home because chances are that it's going to be expensive and far from school.
Ask around
It's always good to talk to other students concerning an off-campus apartment before you sign the lease. This will give you an idea of the kind of service you'll expect from that area. Some apartments have a bad reputation for being too noisy so you won't have the peace to carry on with your studies. Look out for an apartment that is in a good neighborhood and has a reputation for treating students well. Your choice of accommodation will affect your life and overall experience in campus.

You Are Thankful This Year For A Wonderful Day Care
Copyright (c) 2014 Eli Gali
When parents go around the table during the Thanksgiving meal asking everyone what they are thankful for, do not forget to say that you are thankful you found the ideal day care for your child or children. If you ask a lot of parents, it was not an easy choice and the search was very stressful. You know your children are in the best hands possible.
Even though you are going to be off from work the day after Thanksgiving, your learning center will be accepting their students just like they would on any other day. This gives you a very rare day to yourself to rest or even fight the crowds to do some early holiday shopping without the kids in tow.
You know all the children in the home ate very well on Thanksgiving. But you are also very happy to know that when you drop them off Friday morning the day care is very conscientious about children's health. They feel that nutrition and healthy eating habits are fundamental skills for kids, the learning center plays an important role in helping your child learn about and enjoy a variety of nutritious foods each day. Thursday's super-meal was a once yearly event.
Of course, if you have an infant being watched, you will not have to worry about the Thanksgiving stuffing, You know that your baby is safe and happy in a warm, secure and comforting setting. Her days are filled with lots of hugging, cuddling and singing.
Your toddler may have had fun playing with his sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie, but once he is back at his day care, he will be back into his structured environment. His natural curiosity is encouraged with fun, hands-on activities. Manipulating toys and playing pretend are just some of the ways children discover more about the world. Plus, he gets to interact and socialize with children his own age.
If you have a child in the 'terrible two's' she may have told you how to make the turkey and set the table. She is now expressing her individuality. The learning center understands children in this age group very well. They are encouraged to observe, take things apart, build, create, draw and talk about what they have learned. There is always a patient teacher who is ready with all the answers to multiple 'why's.' They will not hear, 'Because I said so."
Pre-K is an especially fun and rewarding time for children. Their brains are like sponges that soak up everything around them. This is why is it paramount to select a day care or learning center that knows that teaching by example is the best way a child can learn about social issues. Bullying is not practiced nor allowed. No child is better than another just because he dresses differently. You know from your conversations with your child at home that she is being introduced to language, math, science and social skills in a natural sequence to encourage learning at a Pre-K pace.

What A Private School Can Offer
Copyright (c) 2014 Stratique Marketing, Design and PR
If the results of a recent survey are to be believed then more parents than ever would choose a private school for their child if they could afford it. The survey of more than 2000 parents, carried out by the Independent Schools Council, found that 57% of parents agreed with this statement, which was an increase on a level of 54% in 2011 and 51% in 1997.
Indeed, private schools are increasingly a popular choice for parents wanting the best possible education for their children. There are now approximately 2600 private schools in the UK that collectively educate 7% of all British children. However, with annual fees ranging from anywhere between £12,000 and £20,000, and with additional costs for uniform, trips etc, a private education does not come cheap.
However, for many parents the benefits of a private school are worth the fees and any sacrifice that may need to be made for their child to attend. Reasons stated by parents in the above survey for choosing a private school included "having a better start to life", a higher standard of education, smaller class sizes and improved discipline in private schools.
The smaller class sizes in particular enable pupils to feel part of a close-knit community and therefore likely to feel more confident about contributing. The teachers are able to get to know the students on a more personal level and no student 'slips through the net' when it comes to being supported to reach their full potential. The extra-curricular activities and clubs offered are wide-ranging and a great complement to the academic activities undertaken by pupils.
It goes without saying that exam results from private schools are consistently excellent and pupils tend to leave with better grades than they would have done from a state school. The schools are exam-focussed and applications to Oxbridge universities are considered normal.
Indeed, even after leaving a private school and university the benefits of a private education are evident. The connections and network for a successful career are cemented at a private school. Recent research has also found that privately-educated workers earn almost £200,000 more between the ages of 26-42 than their state-educated counterparts. They are also more likely to gain the top jobs with a survey of UK graduates showing that those who were privately educated privately educated males were up to 10% more likely to land top jobs than those with the same grades from the same university but with a state education.
A private education is more than just academic success and it may be these additional life-changing benefits that make you feel like tipping the balance towards a private education for your child.

Factors When Choosing An Electrical Circuit Breaker
Every home and business has an electrical circuit breaker. Many of us have no idea what the circuit breaker really does or how it works. A breaker is a unit that is installed that protects your circuits from becoming overloaded essentially causing a short which could create an unsafe situation. By design, when the breaker becomes aware of a disruption in the system it breaks the electrical current flow thus protecting the rest of the circuit.
Commercial and residential <a href="https://jpelectricalcompany.com/products.php">electrical circuit breakers</a> are purchased based on a number of essential factors including the vast abundance of different designs that they are sold in. Other factors to weigh before you buy a circuit breaker include the voltage load, the mounting style and the unit's trip style.
Voltage Load
This is a fairly obvious feature to figure out. Commercial and industrial settings need higher voltage <a href="https://jpelectricalcompany.com/products.php">circuit breakers</a> then a residential environment. This is because of the amount of electricity that will be flowing through the circuit. Larger equipment requires a higher amount of electricity therefore requiring a higher voltage breaker. It is crucial when buying or selling circuit breakers that you understand what purpose the breaker is serving. Installing a circuit that is either too big or too small can end up being detrimental.
Low Voltage Circuit Breakers: Consider this style of breaker for most residential applications. This circuit takes a load up to 1000 volts without issue.
Medium Voltage Circuit Breakers: Consider this style breaker for commercial office buildings or residential uses when using high voltage tools. A home wood working shop is the perfect example of a residential environment that needs more than a low voltage circuit. A medium voltage breaker is good for circuits between 1000 to 72,000 volts.
High Voltage Circuit Breakers: For any use that requires more than 72,000 amps of voltage this is the breaker you need. This is what is needed for industrial and commercial applications that use large pieces of equipment for manufacturing.
Mounting Style
The manner in which a circuit breaker is mounted is also another consideration for which purchasers choose the correct mechanism for their need. Two main styles include fixed mounting and removable mounting. Draw out mounted breakers are used for medium voltage breakers. Bolt on and plug in electrical circuit breakers are also options that can be obtained from companies that sell electrical equipment and supplies.
Trip Unit Type
When you are purchasing a circuit breaker you need to also take into consideration the unit's trip type. There are a few main types including magnetic, thermal, thermal magnetic and magnetic hydraulic trip units. Another consideration is the temperature operating range in which the circuit breaker operates. You want to purchase a breaker that operates at different temperature ranges.
It is important to take into consideration all of the essentials pieces of purchasing a circuit breaker before installing one in your home or business. The electrical component will prevent accidental electrical issues from occurring down the road. Overworking a circuit can cause shortages that will cause fuses to continually blow. This is only one disruption that can occur if a circuit is overloaded.

Brick House Security's Spark Nano 4.0 GPS Tracker Review
Brick House Security's Spark Nano 4.0 GPS Tracker is for those individuals who care about the security and well-being of those they love. Whether you're a small business owner, a married couple with or without children, this GPS tracker will keep you posted all the time, without appearing too nosy. Loaded with a vast array of features, this device gives you the power to monitor your target right from your computer, tablet or smartphone.
It relays information in real time, which is very necessary in case you spot or detect something that raises your curiosity about your target. What's more, there are no expensive apps to download, plus the rechargeable battery will work for up to 2 weeks under normal use.
The Spark Nano also comes with a feature that's very rare to find in most GPS devices today. It's called motion-activated tracking, which lets you save battery life when your target isn't moving. It's smaller than your cell phone in size, plus it has weather-proof capabilities that make it more versatile than most GPS trackers in its class.
What's new in the Brick House Security Spark Nano 4.0 GPS Tracker?
The New Nano 4.0 GPS tracker features a more covert and sleek design to boast of. However, that's not all it comes with. This new model has a 1 minute update frequency, set by default, and this makes it more accurate than the previous generations. The battery capacity is also very large, allowing users to conduct up to 24 hour continuous tracking without draining it.
Furthermore, the update speed is faster than the previous models. If you like, you can just track your target for one hour each day, and the battery will last for 2 weeks instead of the 24 hours.
Exclusive Features
-The Nano 4.0 works on the BrickHouse GPS platform and nothing else
-There's an option to extend the battery life if users desire to do so
-It comes with a preset for 1-minute reporting
-It offers detailed travel report for the accuracy needed
-It is predominantly for US tracking, but international users have their option too
It's the most customizable and powerful GPS tracking device ever seen in the security industry. Notably, the online tracking platform is easy to use and gives a comprehensive report on all Nano 4.0 activities. And just in case you're tracking your car, get email or text message alerts via your computer or smartphone the moment it exceeds the set speed limit. If you like, you can use the ''geofence'' feature and it will tell you whenever the person driving your car has moved beyond the safe boundary that you had set by default.
The Pros
-This technology by BrickHouse is ideal for tracking vehicles, teens, children, one's asset, and even elderly people. That's what it does best.
-The Nano is extremely accurate and that has never been seen in any device in its category. The motion-activated tracking feature also lets users save battery life.
-It comes complete with a wall charger, sim card(already installed into the device), and instruction manual so you can start using it right out of the box.
The Cons
-Some users say that Brick House Security doesn't provide enough available accessories for the Nano.
Expert Reviews
Unlike when the first generation of Brick House Security's Spark Nano 4.0 GPS Tracker was launched, the 4th generation has only gotten better, with more features to make tracking easier and convenient. In case you're looking to track a person, a vehicle or just one of your assets, tracking via GPS doesn't get any better than this.
With its compact design and extended battery life, the Nano 4.0 has marked the epitome of success for the team at BrickHouse. It has been their best-selling item since its inception. Furthermore, the company's GPS tracking platform has proven to be customer-friendly since it was launched. With a host of features and easy subscription fees, the convenient platform has only improved tremendously since its early days from the previous generation, Nano 3.0.
BrickHouse Security has been in the business of tracking via GPS for quite some time. We've seen both the positives and negatives of their other platforms. They have embraced what we loved and gotten rid of what we didn't. Fortunately, BrickHouse products have managed to stand the test of time. The Spark Nano 4.0 is definitely a darling to most people who have tested it.

Famous Musicians On Stamps
Ten Music Legends for Your Stamp Album
In July 2014, South African Post Office issued a set devoted to popular music icons, consisting of 10 self-adhesive stamps and two commemorative envelopes, featuring artwork by artist Vumile Mavumengwana.
The ten musicians honoured on the stamps were chosen for their originality, as well as for the impact they had on the lives of South Africans. All of them are deceased because, according to SAPO's policy, no living persons can be portrayed on a stamp unless it is the president of a country.
In chronological order of their birth, the ten music legends that are now immortalised on South African stamps are:
Solomon Linda (1909 - 1962). Linda composed the song Mbube, which later became popular as The Lion Sleeps Tonight from The Lion King and recorded it in 1939. It became the first African record to sell over 100,000 copies. Linda died in poverty in 1962. In 2006, in an out-of-court settlement, Linda was recognised as a co-author of Mbube / The Lion Sleeps Tonight and his descendants were granted royalties from world-wide use of the song.
Kippie Moeketsi (1925 - 1983). Jazz musician and saxophonist Kippie Moeketsi played with many South African greats: Abdullah Ibrahim, Jonas Gwangwa, Hugh Masekela and Mirriam Makeba. Unlike many other musicians, who went into exile after the Sharpeville massacre of 1960, Kippie returned to South Africa, but did not perform for years. He died in poverty at the age of 58. Kippies Jazz Club in Newtown was named after him.
Miriam Makeba (1932 - 2008). South Africa's first global star, Miriam Makeba was also a civil rights activist. When she campaigned against apartheid while out of the country in the 1960s, she was forced into exile and her music was banned in South Africa. She returned back home after thirty years and continued touring with her eight member band right up until her death at the age of 76. Her signature song is Pata Pata, first recorded in 1957.
Spokes Mashiyane (1933 - 1972). Johannes 'Spokes' Mashiyane was one of the greatest pennywhistle artists on the South African kwela music scene from the 1950s to the 1970s. He was famous for his distinctive style of playing and thanks to him kwela, or penny whistle jive, became the major dance music during this time. Mashiyane was the first black musician in South Africa to receive royalties when Gallo Records convinced him to record for them in 1958.
Simon "Mahlathini" Nkabinde (1938 - 1999). Mahlathini became an international star when he performed with Paul Simon at the Graceland tour in 1986. He was known as the 'Lion of Soweto' for his deep-voiced, groaning style that became synonymous with mbaqanga music in the 1960s. Mahlathini was awarded the South African Order of Ikhamanga in Bronze for outstanding contribution in traditional music.
James Phillips (1959 - 1995). This rock singer, songwriter, and performer gave voice to young, white, male South Africans living in an environment characterised by apartheid, conscription, suppression of political debate and intolerance of non-conformism. Although Bernoldus Niemand was Philips' only album in Afrikaans, it marked a revolution in Afrikaans music and the start of an Alternative Afrikaans movement.
Johannes Kerkorrel (1960 - 2002). Johannes Kerkorrel was the stage name of Ralph John Rabie, journalist, playwright and singer-songwriter who played a major role in the Alternative Afrikaans music movement in the late '80s. He was famous for his politically themed cabaret-style music performances. His most popular song is called Hillbrow.
Lucky Dube (1963 - 2007). In his career, which spanned over a quarter of a century, Lucky Philip Dube recorded 22 albums in Zulu, English and Afrikaans. He started with playing mbaqanga and moved on to reggae to become South Africa's biggest-selling reggae artist and one of the world's greatest reggae superstars. Lucky won over twenty international awards and shared stages with many international artists.
Taliep Petersen (1950 - 2006). One of South Africa's best known theatre personalities, Petersen was a singer, composer and director of a number of popular musicals. He and David Kramer produced District Six: The Musical, Poison, Fairyland, Crooners, Kat and the Kings, Klop Klop and Spice Drum Beat: Ghoema, many of which toured internationally. In 1999, he and Kramer won the Best New Musical Olivier Award for Kat and the Kings.
Brenda Fassie (1964 - 2004). Known as the girl with the golden voice, and South Africa's queen of pop, Brenda Fassie enjoyed enormous popularity. Most of her albums became multi-platinum sellers in South Africa. In March 2006 a life-size bronze sculpture of Fassie by artist Angus Taylor was installed outside Bassline, a music venue in Johannesburg

Reincarnation Is The Only Way Forward And Back
Floating above my body and looking down on it was one thing but then being in total darkness with the Spirit of the Universe was a wonderful experience. Next while floating above my parents I witnessed their marriage one month before my birth. Just prior to that my new life was shown to me as a line stretched out ahead and it pitched up and down as the joys and pitfalls to be gone through. The age of 45 years stood out and directed my new life accordingly.
The world I came back to is a confusing, evil and dark place and only because of the Spirit have I returned. There was a job known to me from other lives and the one thought on my mind when I passed from my previous life was that at last I can do it.
It would take all of the 45 years to learn the job and to gain the tools to perform it. Two months past that birthday the Spirit pinned me to the bed with such force that I could not move a muscle. It commissioned me to "tear down the wall of churches, go out to the people and bring back the young.".
The three visions that followed showed me replacing Jesus Christ as the teacher on the mountain. My face was on a screen that is now used to view the Internet and that is the tool given to me to publish the work. The year was 1984 and many visions and other commissions soon followed.
The next order was to take God off the cross. It happened when a man on a cross stood in front of me and on his face was the pain and suffering seen so often in the eyes of many who are under the influence of evil. It showed rejection, confusion, loss, agony, innocence and above all it questioned why?
Why? Why does man think he is made in the image of God? Why does man destroy when the Spirit creates? Why does man pray to images he has made for himself instead of to the voice within? Why does man use trickery, deceit, lies and wilfulness to gain what he considers success when all the time he serves only himself and the power of the establishment.
Money is not from God but is a man-made resource. Every animal on earth lives and survives on what the Great Spirit has given to them. That is until man comes along and rips down their habitat to turn it into money. Every animal breeds and creates homes out of what God has provided. That is until man tears down the forests and destroys their refuges for the sake of money.
Humanity is its own worst enemy. Man knows only how to undo and abuse nature. He has no concern for how the systems work.
Yet despite all of this there is only one thing in control and that is the Spirit. It created everything including mankind and it set humanity on a course that will see it come to its end in the very near future. Wars; nuclear weapons; disease; loss of land; soil turning to salt; droughts; climate change; global warming; and so much more are all part of how man thinks. These things are not done by anyone who has the mind of God but by those who are too confused, bewildered and evil to even know the real God.
Religions have buried the truth and hidden the Spirit by the wall erected by their lies, tricks, smoke screens and evil intent is to blame. That wall is too high, wide and deep to go around, over or under and it was shown to me as having been erected by the two beasts of Revelation.
It was shown to me in a vision when a group of people were gathered on a hill-top and gazed at a large perforated stone. They faced east and as the sun rose the rays penetrated the hole and formed the wonderful brilliant image of rainbow colored circles.
This was the 'Zoro-Aster' or 'morning star'. It was called 'Ma-r-i' or 'Mary' and the name stuck. 'I-s-ma-l' means 'eye's light-mother god' and as 'I-s-l-m' it became 'Islam'. 'Obrama' is a Muslim name and Mary is a common Islamic name for females.
The descendants of Ismal built and occupied the city of Babylon. They became the 'Amors' or 'O-m-or' which means 'circle of the mother sun'. 'Or' is an old term for sun and 'o-r' is 'circle of power'.
The Spirit taught me how to read old languages and to decipher the symbols and sounds used. They were forms from basic images made by the sun, such as the cross. Men thought they could rise with sun at dawn and become her mate if they died on the cross and passed through the circle with 'her'.
'Her-o' gave them the name 'hero' while 'the-o' is an old term for 'god'. It is in words like 'theology' for that reason. Circles identify the men who are considered her mates and they still wear them on their heads for that reason. Skull caps are worn by most religious people, including the pope.
The Amors migrated as they violently worked their way into the Mediterranean. They raided, murdered, enslaved and built a massive empire that few have heard of. That is because their final city of note was 'Roma' reverse 'Amor' where they became the 'Romans'. Their rampaging acts never ceased as they conquered and slew their enemies in raids that were nothing short of barbaric.
One of their numbers was Constantine who established the Roman Catholic Church in 325 AD and gave his Islamic religion a new look. He set up Mary as the 'mother of god' and he put forward the image of Jesus Christ as a replacement for all the males who died every year as part of the marriage ceremony to Mother God.
It was the two beasts who built the wall and their cohorts in the deception were people like Jerome. He compiled and partly wrote the New Testament which was part of his effort to unite the church at the end of the 4th CAD. He notes in his diaries and letters how he altered the Septuagint, which he titled the Old Testament, to make it align with his text. He also claims to have 'put back' what he said the Jews had removed.
Revelation 13:13 -18 describes Constantine's role in it and in verse 17 it states that he took control of commerce and trade. He is also 666, the most feared man in the world and yet people secretly worship him.
Expose the identity of the two beasts, take God off the cross, and break down the wall. There is only one Creative Spirit and man was not made in its image. Some, however, have the spirit within and have been led and guided to grow in strength of their spiritual power through suffering, death and resurrection.
That is the message for all to consider.

Student Housing
Copyright (c) 2014 College Park Apartments
Your college life is about to begin. Your are stepping into adulthood and responsibilities. On top of that, you are having plans of staying out of campus. Before you choose the apartment, you should know what to look for. If you plan on living in student housing then you should be aware of these facts. For one, student housing costs much less compared to staying in the dorms. It is preferred that you choose a local landlord instead of an agency as agencies charge extra and landlords are easier to contact in need of any issue/repair.
Before you chose your student housing premises, make sure to inspect the house thoroughly. Make sure all bills are paid. Make sure you take an inventory report of the apartment, so you can evaluate the condition of the house. Lastly, make sure your parents are the guarantors in the contract. Negotiate in paying the yearly month upfront and getting discount in the rent. Do remember to note down the meter readings on the day you enter, so you do not end up paying any previous electric bills.
Apartments for Rent
The splurge behind students going to stay in apartments for rent is amazing. It shows how budget conscious our students are. It was in college, fall of 2013, that students saw how their families went into debts to pay for their stays in the college dorms. In fact, 69% of students agree that staying in apartments for rent is much cheaper compared to staying in the dorms.
The college student wants full concession of their money, hence; getting the right amenity is a must. For example, storage, pool, or a fitness center nearby can be the bargaining factor for renting an apartment. Here are some tips to help you out:
• Begin searching before you have to enroll into your college
• Visit at least more than three apartments to get the best deal
• Make a checklist of your priorities you want in your apartment
• Examine the building carefully; you are to stay here throughout your semesters
• Read the lease papers carefully before signing
Student Living
If you are planning on living off campus, then student living is your answer. Modern and comfy en-suites are available near colleges for students to choose from. Obviously, you have to find your student living before you enroll into college and some days before so you can settle in. In private sectors, students tend to look out for:
• Self-confined flats or a single house if with a group of students
• If individual then a studio and if a couple then a one-bedroom set
• A single room with other students
• A single room with another family/landlord
• A room in a private hall not run by the university
Some students can also have other requirements to be dealt with apart from just studying. Some of the common issues are:
• Furnished apartments: Students from outside the country have this issue, hence; furnished apartments are a better choice especially with kitchen ware
• A 9-month contract: Undergraduate students prefer a 9-month contract as taking the apartment on a year contract is a waste of money
• Allow conversion of the living room to bedroom: Some students ask co-students to live along and share the rent, hence; many landlords allow this option
• Study desks: Possible provision of study desks in the bedrooms

A Beginner's Guide To Geothermal Energy
Energy extracted from the heat of the Earth is known as 'Geothermal Energy'.
Earth's core, which is 4,000 miles deep, has a lot of heat in rocks and fluids. The maximum temperature at that point is 7,600° F, or 42,204°C, which is produced owing to the gradual decay of radioactive particles. These hot water and steam reservoirs can be harnessed to produce electricity or to heat buildings.
It as a renewable source of energy and cheap too, therefore it has an edge over fossil fuels.
Geothermal reservoirs are the places where hydrothermal sources are generally found. Being very deep under the Earth's surface, it is difficult to sight them over the ground. But they find their way to our planet's surface through hot springs, volcanoes, and geysers.
There are three major ways in which geothermal energy can be used.
Direct geothermal energy is used in locations close to the Earth's surface where geothermal reservoirs or hot springs are present.
Geothermal heat pump is used where the water or soil is steadily hovering around 50-60° F or 10-15° throughout the year. In geothermal power plants, steam and hot water are transported over the ground via underground wells so that power plants can use them to generate electricity.
The United States in 2013 was the world leader in terms of the quantity of electricity generated using geothermal energy. Geothermal power plants were responsible for 0.4% of the total electricity generated in the country in the same year at around 17 billion kilowatt hours (kWh), according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, and Italy are the other large producers of geothermal electricity.
It is expected that this form of energy will gain more acceptance across the world in the times to come.
We will go through some benefits and drawbacks of using geothermal electricity.
Let us zero in on the advantages first.
1. Carbon dioxide, sulfur gases and nitrous oxide are emitted only in miniscule quantities, according to the US Department of Energy (DoE).
2. As the energy is generated very close to the plant, costs are saved on transportation and processing of geothermal power.
3.Geothermal plants can run uninterruptedly throughout the year.
4.Geothermal plants can be set up at any location in the world as the temperature under the Earth's surface is always constant.
5.Geothermal energy is renewable because the removed water can be pumped back into the ground after its heat is used.
We all have a look at the shortcomings of using electricity generated from geothermal plants.
1. It is expensive to set up geothermal power plants.
2. It can only be located at places where there are lots of rocks below.
3. It is not easy to transport geothermal energy.
4. Geothermal power plants may not be financially viable as the electricity generated there might not offset the expenses incurred in constructing them.
All said and done, it is foreseen that returns from this energy outweigh its downsides. We can safely surmise, therefore, that we will hear more about its adoption in the future.

Are We Thankful That The New School Year Is Starting?
Copyright (c) 2014 Eli Gali
Parents across the country are giving a communal sigh of relief that the new school year is beginning. This means their school age children will have plenty to keep them busy and diffuse some of their energy by the end of the day. First graders will be sitting at the dinner table just chatting away about their new teachers, all the new friends they have made and what they learned in school that day. But what did they do after school? If both parents work, where did the children go when school let out?
The same scenario is taking place for the parents of those children in second, third and fourth grades. While they are relating all the good things that went on during school, what are they saying about their after-school day care? Aren't you glad you did your research and selected the perfect learning center for them to attend when school is out?
Second graders will feel too old to be combined with the little first graders. In their tiny minds they are one year older and therefore one year wiser in the ways of daycare. This is why the kid's school you chose has different programs for children of different ages. The day care allows them to show their maturity and independence yet in a structured, supervised manner.
These children can get a head start on homework so when the parents pick them up the rest of the evening can be spent in quality family time. There are qualified teachers on hand to answer any questions they may have and to allow them to work in peace and quiet with no distractions. When they have finished their homework, or if they choose to do it at home with their parents, there are supervised outdoor activities that will give the children the minimum suggested 30 minutes of active playtime.
You can also count on your day care to pick up the children after school and keep them safe until you arrive. The kids are fed a healthy snack that keeps their energy level up until meal time. Some of the children like the organized sports like basketball, volley ball and badminton. Not only do they develop advanced motor skills and coordination, they learn the rules of good sportsmanship.
Even if your child is at a pre-school age there are specific programs for enrichment and learning. This day care has a special staff that has years of experience in dealing with preschoolers. This is an important time in the development of the four year olds. Learning in this environment has so many more advantages than remaining at home all day long. Children learn to communicate with others their own age. They learn that they are not the total center of attention and learn how to share. They will be more coordinated and have the opportunity to learn complex games as well as beginning some basics that they will need when they advance to kindergarten.
Aren't you glad you have this school year under control?

Wind Power
Wind power or wind energy is electrical energy that is acquired by exploiting wind through wind turbines. Similarly, wind power can be harnessed using windmills to extract mechanical power, and wind pumps for water pumping.
So why do we need wind power? It is a renewable source of energy, which never gets depleted, and does not cause pollution in any form.
A wind farm comprises a network of wind turbines, whose number depends on the energy that is required to be generated. The wind causes the blades of the turbine to turn, which rotate a shaft linked to a generator that produces electricity.
Offshore wind farms have the benefit of more powerful winds hitting them than the ones in the hinterland. But their construction costs are considerably costlier.
The major point to be taken into consideration while setting up a wind power plant is the location. They should be set up where wind is blowing fast and its levels are high. Besides coastal areas, they can be located at places with high altitudes, mountains and hills, and in open areas where wind blows without any obstructions.
Meanwhile, turbines are getting cheaper by the day as they are being produced on a mass scale, and also owing to advances in technology. Governments, in addition, also provide tax incentives for people willing to invest in wind power technology. Also, once the turbines are erected, there are no maintenance costs.
Did you know that in the year 2012, wind turbines produced around 3% of total electricity generated in the United States!
Also the volume of electricity generated in 2012 was approximately 140 billion kilowatthours (kWh), up from 6 billion kWh in 2000, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The United States is the largest producer of wind power. It is followed by China, Germany, Spain, and India, These five countries together accounted for 72% of the total wind power generated in the world for the year 2012.
The major gripe people harbor about wind turbines is the noise that they make. The other problem is that the wind is variable. So if there's no wind, turbines are not activated. This seems a valid point, but this is only an occasional occurrence in most parts of the world.
Here are some major upsides of using wind power.
1. Human reliance on fossil fuels is reduced, therefore reducing the main sources of carbon dioxide emissions, which, in turn, reduce the effects of global warming.
2. There is neither air nor water pollution.
3.The cost of producing energy is reduced.
4. It creates many jobs for local people in coastal and hilly areas.
Pitfalls of using wind energy are as follows.
1.Wind turbines create a lot of noise, disturbing people who live close to them.
2.Animals and birds are intimidated by wind turbines, causing them to migrate.
3.Many landlocked places, which do not have coastal areas and hilly terrains, are not apt locations for setting up wind farms.
Its drawbacks notwithstanding, wind power is said to be the fastest growing renewable energy source. We can surely hope to overcome all the disadvantages with advancement of technology and cooperation of all stakeholders.

In this article, Cisco evangelist Ravi Namboori discusses about wind power, another source of renewable energy. What it offers in terms of benefits, and how it can be tapped are spelt out here.

An Overview of Organic Farming
An agricultural system employed for production of crop and livestock without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, among others, is organic farming.
This process instead uses crop residues, animal manure, crop rotation, other organic wastes, etc., and relies on non-chemical methods to control pests, weeds, and diseases. Genetic engineering methods are also not used in this type of farming. This is the reason why organic farming is said to be an alternative to traditional farming.
J.I. Rodale is widely hailed as the father of the American organic farming movement. Also the founder of Rodale Institute, he is credited with having provided inputs for 'non-chemical' farming measures as far back in the 1940s.
His source of inspiration was said to be Sir Albert Howard, a scientist from Britain, who gained knowledge in this area by observing traditional agricultural systems being followed in India for many years.
The movement, however, gained momentum in the United States only in 1990, when the Congress passed the Organic Foods Production Act (OFPA). As per the act, a National Organic Program (NOP) was created within the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). NOP is mandated to grant permission to organic farmers to have a 'USDA Organic' seal on their products, provided they get prior certifications from USDA-accredited agents.
This, in a nutshell, is the history of organic farming in the US.
Considered a sustainable way of farming, it combines best of both the worlds, i.e., the use of traditional methods along with modern scientific practices.
One of the main reasons for adopting it is for maintaining the biodiversity of the environment. A primary factor for discouraging non-organic farming is that it pollutes farms and adversely affects the environment. Also it poses toxic risks to newborns.
The benefits of adopting organic farming are many more. They have been listed as follows.
1. Food produced through it tastes better.
2. Organic foods could have increased health benefits, as they reduce the incidence of heart attacks, cancer, etc.
3. It has been found by studies in the United States that by adopting it farmers can cut down their production cost by about 25%, as fertilizers and pesticides need not be bought.
4. It protects wildlife and saves ground water.
5. When organic foods are consumed by cows, their health improves and, therefore, the milk yielded by them is of better quality.
6. The quality of water and soil improve gradually.
7. The greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) are drastically reduced.
8. Food can be stored for a longer period without the fear of rotting.
9. Plants grown through this method are more resistant to droughts.
10. It prevents loss of nutrients and minerals in food products.
Critics of organic farming disagree, and support traditional farm by citing the following disadvantages.
1. Productivity through this method is lesser.
2. It requires farmers to spend more time on their farmlands.
3. It demands far greater skill from a farmer.
4. Although it reduces carbon dioxide emissions, the contribution to sustainability is not said to be very significant.
5. Food produced through this method is much costlier.
6. Crops cannot be grown in off-season.
7. It is also more labor intensive.
Despite its drawbacks, proponents of green technology usage concur that organic farming will be beneficial to the world in the long run, as advanced technologies would be developed to improve yields through this method.

A Primer To Hydropower
Electricity produced by exploiting the energy of flowing water is known as hydropower.
A renewable source of energy, it accounts for almost 20% of the electricity generated in the world. In fact, six percent of the total electricity used by the United States in 2013 came from hydropower! This is undoubtedly a major source of power, whose importance we cannot afford to underestimate.
A report by the US Geological Survey's Water Science School states that about 66% of its economically viable potential worldwide are yet to be tapped. Many hydro resources are available in Latin America, China, Central Africa, and India that have not yet been harnessed!
Also, only a few dams in the US are being used to generate electricity, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Although hydropower has been used by earliest civilizations, we have been only able to appreciate its value now because of its sustainability.
Here is a look at the brief history hydropower and some basic facts.
In 1879, the first hydroelectric power facility was constructed at Niagara Falls, but the first plant in the world to generate power was located in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1882.
Currently, China is the largest producer of hydropower the world. It is followed by Russia, Canada, the US, and Brazil.
Presently, the world's largest hydropower plant as per installed capacity (22,500 MW) is the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River in Hubei province of China.
The largest hydropower facility in the US is on the Grand Coulee Dam on the Columbia River in Washington.
Coming back to the subject, a conventional hydropower plant comprises three components. First is a plant for producing electricity; another is a dam, which controls the flow of water by being kept closed or opened; and a reservoir to store water.
When water flows through a dam, it turns a turbine, which, in turn, activates a generator to produce electricity.
There are many advantages of using hydropower over electricity generating through burning fossil fuels. Let us have a look at some of them.
1. As it is a renewable source of energy, it is less costly and more flexible. 2. Reservoirs at hydropower plants store rainwater that can be used for irrigation purposes or consumption as well. 3. The stability and reliability of electricity systems is improved. 4. Greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) are reduced drastically. 5. Hydropower is cleaner and cheaper.
Its disadvantages are listed below. 1. Investment costs are on the higher side. 2. It sometimes displaces people and wildlife from their habitats. 3. Some lands are lost as they would be submerged during construction of dams. 4. Some fish species lives could be affected as they may not be able to swim upstream.

Cisco evangelist Ravi Namboori in this brief write-up on hydropower gives us an introduction to this renewable technology source. Some facts have also been expressed to give it a historic perspective.

Uniforms In Australian Schools
Before you join any of the Australian schools, you need to first familiarize yourself with the applicable polices within the institution. Doing this, will help you fit in with the rest of the school community. One key aspect to consider is the school uniform.
Here's a sample of some uniform policies applicable to a several schools in Australia.
Cherrybrook Technology High School (CTHS)
CTHS possesses a variety of school clothes. These are categorized based on senior and junior girls/ boys, as well as summer and winter clothes.
Firstly, the senior girls' summer clothes consist of mid grey wool blended skirts with white pin tucked, short sleeved blouses. This is topped off with black wool blended blazers with crests and black woolen jumpers/ non-woolen pullovers with crests. When winter comes around, the attire changes to red and grey plaided/ mid-grey wool blended skirts with white pin tucked, short sleeved blouses. The skirts may be substituted with black business style trousers. However, the jumper and blazer remain the same.
For summer, junior girls put on grey and red striped dresses. Unlike the seniors, they also have black non-woolen zipped front jackets with crests. During the winter, they wear similar skirts, trousers and blouses to the seniors with only the minor inclusion of embroidered crests on their blouses.
Senior boys' summer attire consists of white short sleeved shirts with embroidered crests and black business style trousers or grey business style shorts. Apart from the trousers, the other similarity in attire that they have with girls is in the style of jumper and blazer. Junior boys have much the same summer attire, except for trousers which are grey instead of black. During the winter, all boys shift to white long sleeved shirts.
Sydney Girls High School (SGHS)
SGHS features a unique brown and yellow uniform. Girls in year 7 up to year 9 would have on tunics and shirts; whereas those in year 9 up to year 12 would wear skirts and shirts. The learning institution's dress code also features blazers, jumpers and sleeveless pullovers. Additionally, year 12 students have a unique year 12 jersey.
Although the school allows such accessories as ribbons, winter scarves and hair bands/ clips, these must be in school colors. Moreover, any jewelry worn by the students should be discreet.
Davidson High School (DHS)
The DHS dress code is quite different from the SGHS and CTHS attire. Apparently, DHS has more color and patterns.
Firstly, senior girls' attire features 'Davidson' tartan skirts with either white polo shirts for summer or white, short sleeved blouses with pointed collars for winter. Their jumpers are navy blue in color, while bearing a logo.
On the other hand, senior boys put on white cotton or polyester polo shirts during the summer and white pointed collar shirts during the winter. This is combined with either navy blue shorts or long grey trousers. To top it all, a navy blue jumper completes the picture.
Junior girls' uniform isn't too different from the seniors, except for the summer checked dress and tunic. Their male counterparts also have navy blue shorts as an alternative to trousers.

School Wear Accessories Aprons: Why You Need It - Plus A Bit Of History
In some instances, you might be required to purchase an apron for the food technology classes in your school. These school wear accessories (aprons) have several benefits, which you might not be fully aware of.
A Brief History Of Aprons
To fully appreciate the usefulness of aprons, you first need to know a bit of its history. Originally, these clothing items were worn during a time when people had very few clothes to spare. It meant protecting the little decent fabric they could afford. Actually, it served all so many functions that you can hardly imagine (borrowed from New Bremen Historic Association): taking out hot pans from ovens, drying children's tears, cleaning out the child's dirty ears, carrying eggs from the chicken coop, carrying chips and kindling wood, carrying all manner of vegetables and even dusting furniture.
That ubiquitous piece of cloth was a truly all-purpose accessory. However, you shouldn't get any ideas of the many things you can use it for. Just remember that we are in a different age and humanity discovered something called bacterial/ germ/ viral infection. So just keep its use to the basic protective function and use something else to clean your ears or getting the dirt from your eye.
Oh! And the aprons had quite some lovely prints with all sorts of vibrant flowers. Well, until they got covered up in grit and slime in the multitude of uses they went through. Before, you start becoming nostalgic about those good old days, just remember that there's a purpose why modern aprons have plain uninspiring colors. Apart from the fact that "flower-hating" boys also have to wear them, you don't want to conceal any stains on your apron.
What's The Use Of Aprons
Obviously, the first role of aprons is protecting your clothes. You wouldn't want to get your school uniform dirty, especially on a Monday when you have a whole week of school to maintain tidiness. Without the apron, you might get some stubborn stains that just won't come off however thoroughly you try to wash up. This might mean buying new school clothes - definitely something you don't want to happen considering the fact that parents spend close to $200 on school uniforms every year (based on a 2013 Back to School Spending Survey by Heritage Bank).
Not just your clothes get protected by the apron. You too need that extra layer of protection, in case hot boiling water spills all over you. A thick strong apron will at least reduce the amount of water that actually gets to your skin and save you from a terrible burn. You'll also avoid medical bills, unless that makes you frown because you don't get a sick day away from school - if that is your idea of a good excuse.
Protecting your clothes and yourself from harm is just one part of it. The other side to this story is that the food you're cooking is also protected from you. That apron serves much the same function as a chef's hat - it keeps obnoxious lint/ fluff from falling onto the food during preparation. That's also one reason, why you shouldn't use the apron for random purposes, since it will pick up dirt, which will inevitably fall onto the food.

Important Aspects To Consider When Selecting Girls' Junior School Uniforms
One of the basic requirements for entry in many schools is the school uniform. This means that a parent has the task of choosing the perfect fit for his/ her daughter. Fortunately, there's a wide selection of quality uniforms online, making it convenient for you to choose and purchase the recommended type of uniform with ease. These include skirts, dresses, blouses, jumpers, sweaters and socks. You're guaranteed to find everything that you need for your school-going child.
Attractive And Functional
When choosing girls junior school uniforms, two fundamental aspects must be considered: attractiveness and functionality. As far as attractiveness of school attire is concerned, size, color and style are the key determining factors.
It's no secret that human beings of the female gender (regardless of age) always want to look elegant at all times. Therefore, it would be unwise for you as a parent to choose ill-fitting and unappealing attire that may end up lowering your daughter's self-esteem (this is one reason why school uniform guidelines in New South Wales Government schools necessitate involvement of students in the design process). To avoid this, make sure to consider your daughter's size before making a purchase - every child is unique in-terms of body shape and size.
When determining the correct size of uniform, you should take neck, chest, waist, hip and inside leg measurements. In case you need help in understanding your child's size you can refer to sizing charts that can be accessed online. These charts will help you understand the best fit.
Sometimes, your daughter may be in-between sizes. In this situation, the general recommendation is to go with the larger one. Based on your child's size and the clothing style, garments will generally be ten to fifteen centimeters larger on the chest/ bust.
You have no option in terms of color and style, except during the process of setting up a school uniform policy, whereby students can have a say on what they want. An example is the case of Barrenjoey High School's uniform change after girls indicated their preference for wearing shirts un-tucked. However, once the policy has been set, just make sure that you conform to the school's requirements.
Different schools have different styles for uniforms. These include plaited or plain skirts and dresses, long sleeved or short sleeved shirts and blouses. All these can be conveniently sourced from reliable online stores.
Where To Buy
Apart from careful deliberation in choosing the best school attire, you should also be very particular on the outlet from which to buy. Some aspects to consider when choosing an online outlet include: pricing, delivery time and customer service among others. Also be sure to check whether the store accepts returns should any item fail to meet the expected standards. To be on the safe side, take time to check the testimonials or customer reviews by other parents.
When buying online, you should note that the true colors of some school uniforms may vary to some extent from what you see on your screen. This makes it important for you to be very particular on the shade and hue when making an order.
By considering all these aspects, you will not only choose the perfect fit for your daughter, but also ensure her happiness, confidence and desire to learn.

Sports Uniform: A Comparison Of Australian Schools
Any school with a uniform policy will also have certain guidelines for the sports uniform. However, the specific type of attire worn by students would vary from one learning institution to another.
Here are several examples:
Davidson High School
The sportswear in this institution features navy blue shorts for both girls and boys (the navy blue represents the school brand color, since it also features on the students' jumpers). This short has no logo or stripes. It's worn in combination with red shirts that have the name 'Davidson High' embroidered at the front. To top it all, a navy zip jacket can be worn, but it shouldn't have any hood, emblem or zippers. The only exception would apply during terms 1 and 4, in which case students can wear Moose League t-shirts.
Cherrybrook Technology High School (CTHS)
Although students at CTHS have different guidelines for girls' and boys' official uniform this changes with the sports attire. Both boys and girls have similar sportswear, except for the girls-only pleated black skirts, which can be substituted for the unisex plain black shorts or track pants, also in plain black. Apart from differing in color from the Davidson sports shorts, the CTHS shorts and skirts would also have embroidered school letters.
The complete CTHS attire has polo shirts, black caps and white socks. Students can also have track suit tops. Just as with most other policies, the recommended footwear is the lace up shoes.
Killara High School (KHS)
Just like CTHS, Killara has a polo shirt. The difference, however, is this shirt also has a school crest. Both girls and boys would also wear bottle green shorts, featuring the school logo, "K" or bottle green, cotton-lined track pants. However, the track top is optional. Those who choose to wear it should select a bottle green and zippered design that has a drawstring waist, as well as a crest.
An interesting aspect of the KHS policy is the specification of microfibre as the preferred material for shirts, shorts, track pants and track tops. Microfibre is an extremely fine material that is 1/20th of the diameter of a silk strand. It's often used for athletic wear, especially in cycling, due to its effectiveness in drawing moisture away from the body. This keeps you cool and dry, hence ensuring your comfort during physical activities.
A hat is all that's needed to top it all. It too should be bottle green with a gold trim. As always, the socks are simply white.
All institutions are keen to indicate that sportswear, particularly sports shoes, should only be restricted to sports or PE activities. This is because of the strict regulatory requirements based on the October 2012 Footwear Guidelines, by the Department of Education and Communities Work Health and Safety directorate. The guidelines indicate that only leather footwear should be worn in specialist rooms. Such rooms include: science laboratories, workshops for industrial arts and trades, canteens, agriculture areas and food technology areas. This is because only lace-up leather shoes can provide adequate protection against potential risks in such areas. Sports shoes, being quite soft, would not suffice for such a purpose.

Surprising Benefits Of School Accessories Ties
Most of the school accessories (ties, badges, belts and emblems) are key focal points that help to display the school brand. Such items are normally unique to particular institutions. They would have special features that differentiate them from those used by other learning institutions. However, such accessories, in combination with the full official dress code, have several other advantages for both students and learning institutions.
Benefits Of School Ties
When you observe most of the attire in many schools, it is generally composed of basic colors, which are quite conservative. You will most likely come across gray shorts, trousers and dresses combined with white or light blue shirts, t-shirts or blouses. However, the tie presents a unique focal point that can afford a wider selection of adventurous colors and many learning institutions take full advantage of this.
The selection of colors on ties is not just a fancy thing, but can play a variety of useful roles:
Displays a set of colors that identify the unique brand of a particular school.
Displays a certain characteristic of the person who wears it. For instance, according to Tie-knots, the color blue represents a dependable and trustworthy look on people. This is useful, not only in giving a good impression of the institution to the public, but also enabling students to look presentable and training them on how to dress in a presentable manner. Students would learn how to adopt dressing styles that give a good impression, which would serve them well in their professional careers. In fact, it's quite a common practice for politicians and professionals to dress in blue ties, shirts and suits so as to give an impression of being smart and trustworthy.
Just by wearing your official school attire, complete with a tie, will also have an effect on you. This is revealed in a 2012 study, published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, which showed increased attention in people who wore lab coats. This is because, when you think of school uniforms, the deep symbolic meaning ingrained in your head is academic excellence. Once you wear such clothes, your psychological process is attuned to a learning atmosphere.
Although, there may be more variety in the color of ties compared to other school attire, the selection of colors isn't too wide. Actually, students may feel that the colors of school uniforms and accessories are quite drab and boring. However, this is an aspect that has an unexpected benefit. Just consider the dress code of the top world leaders, including United States president Barrack Obama. He limits his choice of suit colors to only gray and blue. This is a deliberate effort to help in managing will power.
Based on a book, titled "Willpower: The Greatest Human Strength", having less distractions (making unnecessary decisions on what to wear for school and how to match different colors), you would have more energy for important things (concentrating on your studies, applying your creativity and exhibiting your talents in class). Therefore, the seemingly drab school attire is really just the thing you need to help you excel in your studies.

A Comparison Between Formal, Casual And School Uniform Belts
Belts are not just straps of leather for holding up your trousers. This seemingly insignificant clothing accessory is just the thing to complete whatever look you intend to portray; whether it is formal, causal or simply official school uniform. However, in order to pull off the best effect for whatever look you want to create, you need to understand what each look entails.
The Formal Look
If you're wearing classy tailored suits, the last thing you want is a clothing accessory that will shift attention from that impressive look. That is why you need the completely understated formal belt. If your sophisticated suit were a super hero, the belt around it would play the role of the always supportive, but inconspicuous side-kick.
Most often, these belts are either in black, brown or any other subtle color. Apart from the subtle role played by formal belts, you also need to observe two other key components when selecting these aspects of clothing accessories:
- Never have "loud" buckles. This will simply become an unhealthy distraction and might portray a casual attitude, rather than a serious and focused mentality. This can be seriously detrimental, especially for someone interested in landing a lucrative job. In fact, a 2010 study by The Ladders revealed that 76% of employers in Britain would opt against job candidates simply because of their clothes. In this case, casual dress would be the biggest turnoff.
- Make sure that your shoes match with the belt you choose. This simply shows that you have basic fashion sense. Moreover, who would take someone seriously who cannot do something as simple as match his own belt and shoes? I mean, really!
The Casual Look
Are casual belts the opposite of formal? Well, not necessarily. These types of belts provide a key focal point to display your personality. So if you have an introverted personality, you might go with something just a tad different from the formal version.
There are three key areas that you can maximize on to portray the true you through your belt:
- The buckle can spell your excited, passionate, energetic or extroverted character better than anything else.
- The strap. You can either go for insanely thin straps or bold, wide styles.
- Strap design. This is one area with limitless options. These include leatherback ribbon, rodeo, tooled leather, multicolored braided straps, among countless others.
School Uniforms Belts
So where does the school attire fit in within the entire belt universe? Actually, school uniforms are nothing more than formal and casual clothes. You just need to consider them as a form of training for the style of dressing found in the real world. What you're getting is an invaluable lifetime training in proper dressing that is extremely vital in the very first 10 seconds of meeting an interviewer for a your job in future (a 2010 study by the Oregon State University reveals that this short initial period would strongly influence whether a candidate gets the job or not). That should be something to sober you up, the next time you feel like complaining about the boring monotony of putting on the same attire every single day.
Although school uniform belts are greatly restricted, there are a variety of options that may be available from which to choose from, as prescribed by the learning institution. Some subtle design variations are possible - just to spice things up a bit - including buckled belts, straight trimmed edges and woven straps.

Strategies To Cut Expenses On School Wear Socks
Once you've finished buying diapers, car seats and toys for your kids, you suddenly find yourself swamped with school levies and back-to-school shopping lists, which can amount to more than $500 annually (based on data from a 2013Back To School Spending Survey, by Heritage Bank). Such expenses can overwhelm even the most dedicated of parents. However, you can make use of some helpful strategies to lighten such a burden.
One often overlooked strategy involves cutting down on the expenses for uniform accessories, especially school wear socks. Although the costs of such accessories may seem minimal, neglecting proper management can lead to these costs piling up to huge sums of money.
Select The Right Fit
If you don't select the right fit, you'll soon find yourself back at the retailer buying more pairs of socks. The socks shouldn't be too big or too small, but the exact fit. The best way to determine the exact fit of school socks is by checking with your child's shoe size. Each sock size is related to a particular shoe size. Therefore, don't go out shopping for socks without taking note of your child's shoe size.
Good Quality Material
The type of material used to make school socks will determine how long it lasts and how well it fits on your child's feet. Generally, the latter issue is resolved with the addition of nylon or lycra spandex synthetics during the manufacturing process. This helps to retain the shape of natural fiber, as well as creating a snug fit. However, the type of natural fiber will determine how long-lasting this school item is. This is best achieved with cotton fibers, which are quite strong and comfortable.
Good Padding
Socks normally have some form of padding on the balls of the feet, as well as the heels. This provides extra cushioning and protects your child's feet. However, the greatest benefit to parents is that good padding will ensure slow wear of school socks, which means even less expenses in buying replacements. The only aspect you should consider when checking for good padding is whether the amount of padding will make your child's shoe too tight. You need just enough padding to avoid unnecessary wear, but not excessive padding that causes discomfort while wearing shoes.
In case you already purchased poorly-padded socks, you might consider adding in some liner socks. These are specialized socks normally made of polyester synthetic material. The extra padding provided by these liners will help reduce wear on poorly-padded socks.
Look Out For Cost Savings
You have a variety of options to make considerable cost savings on school uniform accessories. These include; checking out for sales in retail stores, checking online for cheaper options and looking or asking for discounts from clothing retailers.
Parents who have serious financial issues can also take advantage of clothing pools within many schools. Setting up of clothing pools is a recommended policy by the New South Wales Department of Education and Training, aimed at assisting families in need by providing: low cost school garments through bulk purchases, loaned items, second-hand clothes and uniform exchange services.
Simply, by following these strategies, you are guaranteed of cutting down unnecessary costs on uniform accessories.

High quality items are not only cost- effective and durable, but they also require minimal maintenance while adding an even more attractive look to your kitchen.
Strategic Renovation
If you have limited finances and must choose between two design features for your remodel, you must be able to apply some strategic thinking. This means choosing specific improvements that will add the most significant value to your kitchen. Some particular design features will produce a bigger impact in your remodel compared to others.
Therefore, the very first step, before applying any renovation, is to categorize every aspect of your renovation plan based on the most essential to the least essential. Remember that what you consider essential or non-essential would largely depend on the overall design layout you want to create. This will help you rule out the non-essential features if you do need to cut any costs.
Suitable Alternatives
Home owners may become too rigid on the choice of fixtures to apply during remodeling or installation of new kitchens. This may be because they are simply not aware of the available alternatives in the market.
Before, you undertake any renovation or kitchen installation, it would be a good idea to visit various kitchen showrooms. This gives you a sample of the wide variety of fixtures and features available for your use. You just might find a whole bunch of fixtures that are much more affordable and far better than your original choices.
Always Consider The Overall Picture
It's quite easy to become fixated on one or a few key aspects of your kitchen layout, while neglecting other seemingly in insignificant aspects. In fact, you should beware of spending excessive amounts on a few key features without doing much to improve other aspects of your kitchen layout. When you do this, you are more likely to end up having an odd-looking kitchen, rather than a uniform and appealing design.
This is particularly evident when altering color layouts. Any color changes would also need to be completed with lighting alterations to bring out the expected results. Based on scientific research, people tend to rate the pleasantness of colors depending on placement, size and shape of lighting within the room (based on a 1985 research report, titled "Three Comparisons of Incandescent and Fluorescent: Color or Luminaire?"). Obviously, painting your kitchen a sunny yellow green color isn't going to do much good if it has very limited lighting to illuminate it.

High Quality Means Low Maintenance
You should never skimp on renovation costs just so you can save a few dollars. The problem with that is you end up purchasing low quality items, which will have high maintenance costs in the long run. Therefore, all the appliances and fixtures that you install must be of the highest standards possible.
If you wish to have 30% lower cost on energy bills from you oven, you would rather opt for convection ovens (based on statistics from the Consumer Energy Center). High quality items are not only cost- effective and durable, but they also require minimal maintenance while adding an even more attractive look to your kitchen.

Boys Junior School Uniforms (Cherrybrook Technology High School Vs Killara High School)
Killara and Cherrybrook Technology High School are two of the most prestigious learning institutions in Australia. What would you do if you had to choose between the two? Obviously, you would have to compare every single aspect of the two learning centers, ranging from academic issues to the social life. If you still end up with a tie after comparing every other major aspect, why not compare the uniform policies.
Comparison Of Boys Junior School Uniforms - Cherrybrook Technology High School Vs Killara High School (KHS)
Let's start off with KHS. Both junior and senior boys are required to dress up with zipped mid-grey long trousers made of either polyester or viscose. Fortunately, you can have this in either summer or winter weights - a very thoughtful thing to accommodate sweltering summer heat and chilling winter colds.
Students also have the option of mid-grey zipped summer shorts, instead of the summer trousers. That makes for extra convenience. This is made even more convenient by the fact that summer shirts differ from winter ones by being short sleeved rather than long sleeved. Coincidentally, a 2013 survey of John Purchase Public School's parents revealed that majority of them do prefer this short sleeve-long sleeve summer-winter alternating shirts. Most probably it would be the same for parents at Killara.
But that's not all. You also have the option of wearing your shirt un-tucked without a tie. How's that for supreme convenience? Just remember to put on a tie and tuck in during winter.
Things get a little bit spicier with the accessories. The ties all have a 'Gordon' tartan print, which is definitely more eye-catching than the seniors' version of green ties bearing the school crest. To top it all, you have the standard - although stylish - v-neck cotton or wool jumper. This features a bottle green color - a trademark of the learning institution. Of course, it also has a crest on it.
CTHS junior boys also have short sleeved summer shirts with embroidered crests, but wearing them un-tucked is not part of standard uniform policy. They also have long-sleeved winter shirts. They are definitely reading from the script as Killara.
If color is a major issue for you, your choice will be easy to make when comparing trouser/ short colors. The trouser/ shorts for CTHS junior boys are a shade darker than Killara, featuring grey color instead of mid-grey. Another item of clothing with different colors would be the socks. Branding goes much further than crested shirts and blazers for CTHS. You also have regulation school stripes featuring in the school socks. However, if you don't fancy being a brand ambassador of the learning institution, you can simply opt for plain grey socks.
Two extra accessories that you only find with CTHS are the black scarf and black non-woolen jackets. That may not compare to having earrings and tattoos, but it does provide that extra flexibility in uniform policies, which every student desires. Of course, the scarf is only allowed for utility reasons, since it only applies during the winter season.
If all you desire from school is fashionable dressing, you might not even select a learning institution with a uniform policy. However, the reality is that choice of school depends on much more than clothes.

What To Do If You Cannot Afford School Uniforms Dresses
The issue of school uniforms is much more complicated than simply setting out a school uniform policy and asking parents to comply. A wide variety of factors can affect implementation of school uniform policies, including: financial inability of parents to buy uniforms, religious beliefs and even physical disabilities that hinder students from complying.
What Happens When Parents Cannot Afford To Buy School Uniforms Dresses?
If your parents don't have the financial means to buy you new uniforms, you can still take advantage of second-hand items found in clothing pools that are available in many schools. Here you can find good quality uniforms at affordable prices.
Parents can also take advantage of various forms of financial assistance that will enable them to acquire new uniforms. The Australian Department of Education clearly outlines various forms of such financial assistance to cater for a wide variety of school levies including: transferring to new schools, best practice, excursions or other school activities, school uniforms and other school activities that have financial implications.
Various forms of financial assistance, you can expect to get include:
(i) The Students Assistance Scheme (STAS): This scheme offers overall financial assistance to cater for all forms of school levies (including costs of school uniforms) for students in low-income families. With such kind of financial assistance, you can definitely afford to buy school uniforms dresses for your daughter. However, this scheme is only available to students in registered non-government schools or government schools.
(ii) Centrelink Student Allowances: These involves numerous forms of financial help such as ABSTUDY (financial assistances targeted at Indigenous students), Assistance For Isolated Children (children who cannot attend a local school because of special needs or distance) and Australian Government Allowances.
(iii) Student Accommodation Allowance (SAA): Year 11 and 12 full-time students living more than 40 km. from their Tasmanian homes would benefit from student Accommodation Allowance. This means that the students have no other closer alternative within their home area to attend a non-government or government school. The SAA is a unique form of financial assistance compared to the other types, since it does not require a financial means test.
(iv) Financial Assistance To Dependent Children Of Temporary Visa Holders: Since the children of holders of temporary visas are eligible for enrollment in government schools, they too would also benefit from financial assistance. Such financial assistance caters for the child's tuition fees and school levies.
(v) Financial Assistance For Grandparents: Grandparents raising grandchildren who are legally under their care would benefit from this scheme. The financial assistance received would help the grandparents to cater for school costs of their grandchildren. Moreover, this scheme also includes access to Student Assistance Scheme (STAS) and Spectacles Assistance Scheme (this scheme offers financial assistance to students from low-income families for purchasing spectacles. It is available to students in registered non-government schools, registered home education situations or government schools).
(vi) Critchley Parker Junior Student Loan Fund: This is a short-term crisis funding available to full-time students to enable them continue studying in Tasmania. It is only accessible to those who cannot get other sources of financial assistance.
Considering the wide variety of options available, you are sure to qualify for some form of financial assistance to help buy just the right school uniforms dresses for your child.

How To Save Money On School Uniform Skirts
The cost of back to school items can become unmanageable if you don't know how to handle this issue. In fact, a 2013 study by Heritage Bank revealed that 60% of Australian parents with children in primary school experience a lot of stress regarding this issue. This is quite understandable considering that a family with primary school children can spend up to $600 on such necessities as books, shoes, musical equipment, sporting equipment and uniforms. This amount is spent just within the few weeks leading up to the start of a school year.
Why You Need To Save Money On School Uniforms
Apparently, the highest costs of back to school items would come from shoes and school uniforms. Most parents (33%) spend between $51 and $100 for school uniforms with some spending well over $200 (based on data from Heritage Bank). Such school uniforms generally consist of shorts, t-shirts, shirts, blouses, dresses, long socks, school uniform skirts, trouser pants and button up tops.
Obviously, you would need more than one set of school uniforms so that your child would have a fresh pair each day, without requiring daily washing. Five sets of school clothes may be ideal. However, you should also realize that children do grow pretty fast and you will definitely need to replace all these sets of school clothes every one or two years.
Considering all these aspects, it's clearly evident that the costs of school uniforms can easily spiral into unmanageable levels. Therefore, you must develop useful strategies to help minimize such costs.
Saving Money On School Uniform Skirts
You can easily save money on school uniforms, especially school uniform skirts, by applying the following strategies:
(i) Keep an updated inventory: Before you buy any school uniform item, you must check on what is already available. This will show you exactly what is needed. If you find that your child is running out of wearable school uniform dresses, then that is what you'll buy. This is much better than buying a whole new set of school clothes, yet your child has only outgrown one or two items.
You should also be regularly updating the inventory of your child's clothes. This will enable you to quickly identify the clothes that need replacing throughout the school year. By having a good idea of which clothes need replacing, you can take advantage of sales during the school year to purchase such items at affordable prices. Moreover, you would also avoid having to buy everything all at once, which is sure to stress you out as you calculate the huge total cost.
(ii) Take advantage of mid-year sales: When you keep an updated inventory of your child's school uniforms, you'll also be able to grab suitable clothes during the mid-year sales in various outlets. However, you should always take the appropriate sizes, considering the fact that your child would soon outgrow his/ her clothes.
(iii) Hand-me-downs: Young children wouldn't make too much fuss about getting their older siblings' hand-me-downs. As long as the clothes are in good condition, you can easily save money by doing this. In order to take advantage of this strategy, you must be very particular about proper care of school clothes. You should ensure that older siblings don't damage their clothes so that they can be handed down to younger brothers and/ or sisters.

Boy School Wear Pants - Handy Tips
Boys' school wear come with less variety when compared to those for girls. Their attire consists of pants, shorts and in some schools, a polo shirt. There are several considerations you need to make when buying boy school wear pants. In most cases, the colors most schools opt for are navy, black, gray or khaki. These colors are closely related and it is easy to mistake one for the other. When buying pants, you need to ensure you have the correct shade of color. The school can assist you, or you can find suppliers that stock uniforms for various schools. The pants can either be flat or have pleats. This is another detail you need to enquire about. There are several important considerations you need to make when buying boys' uniforms.
Boys are playful
When it comes to boys uniforms, you may need to keep replacing them due to their playful nature. In light of this, you must choose a strong material that does not tear easily. You also need to buy three to about five boy school wear pants or shorts as regular washing may weaken the fabric. Generally, cotton pants are durable and comfortable. Polyester is also a suitable material for uniforms.
Go for quality
You will find uniforms in different materials and with varying quality. Due to the constant friction on the pants, you need to find quality and long lasting material. In most cases, suppliers will offer you a sample so you can gauge the quality. If you're buying school wear for the entire school, ensure that you enter into a contract with the supplier. Sourcing for a supplier every time you need uniforms can be hectic. The best strategy is to find a company you can depend on and build a good working rapport with. Most companies will offer you discounts, especially if you purchase in bulk.
Convenient shopping
With the daily hassles of life, you rarely have the luxury of time to shop. You want a store from which you can purchase uniforms online. The back-to-school rush can be very hectic, and you do not want to be caught up in the long queues of people shopping for school items. Nowadays, technology advancement affords you the opportunity to shop from anywhere. This saves you time and money, and most online stores will offer you great deals and discounts. The best thing about them is that they stock different school items, and you can conveniently shop from one store.
Money saving tips
The first money saving tip is to do comparison shopping. Get a few quotes from suppliers and compare them. However, do not compromise on quality; to be on the safe side, request for samples before you make a decision. It is advisable to shop for uniforms earlier. When you shop during off-peak seasons, you will find that uniforms are cheaper then and you can get what you need. The general rule of thumb is that when buying boy school pants, remember that boys will be boys and you need to get uniforms made from strong fabric.
