Best Courses for Introverts

Introverted students may find that certain classes are better suited to their personalities. If they want to eventually work in a career that requires creativity and innovation instead of endless business meetings, then science classes might be perfect. Those young men and women who major in a natural science will find that they spend the majority of their time buried in their textbooks. Though laboratory work will also be important, science professors will place a greater emphasis on written communication over oral communication. Introverts, of course, will generally be happier poring over their notes and studying for exams, which is what science classes entail.

Chemistry and physics, in fact, are two specific courses of study that deal with understanding the natural world. The former deals with the behaviour of atoms, elements, and compounds, while the latter uses the laws of nature to make sense of light, heat, motion, and energy. Both disciplines will require students to learn advanced math, which will generally involve extensive studying. Although students may be asked to make a few formal reports to the class from time to time, they will for the most part be concentrating on learning about complex scientific topics.

When researching the best courses for introverts, bachelor of arts students will have a whole range of interesting options to choose from in the college course catalogue. Quieter students who are pursuing a business degree may want to concentrate on accounting. Accountants are the number crunchers of the financial world and generally spend most of their time working through spreadsheets and economic data. Some classes will mandate that accounting students work in small groups for certain key topics, but this is quite different than requiring people to give several speeches in front of the class. Introverts may even find themselves going to graduate school to pursue a master of finance degree.

Ultimately, introverted students should choose classes that allow them to be themselves. If they are looking for electives to satisfy certain requirements, then they can consider classes in virtually any field of study. Math majors, for instance, might enrol in a history class. Art students might take an astronomy class. As long as men and women are comfortable with how the instructor has set up the course, they should get a lot out of the experience. Faculty advisors can also help them sift through the instructors to find ones that cater more towards introverted students.
