It's not uncommon to see a struggling student actually preform worse while they are trying harder. The combination of stress and lack of sleep is a sure fired recipe for academic failure. Late night cramming sessions, that overload the brain, combined with mental fatigue can actually lead to poor academic performance.
When you know how to study, studying in itself becomes a lot easier and takes a lot less time. The same time it used to take to learn a subject will decrease, while you actually retain more. Studying doesn't have to be a struggle, matter of fact if it is, you're doing it all wrong.
It's no secret that everyones brain works differently. Knowing how your mind works is half the battle. Once you know how your mind processes information than you can tailor a studying program for your mind.
When you learn how you learn you can start to tailor the way you study to your learning type. Doing this alone will show dramatic improvements in your grades. At first you need to know how you think, before you can tailor the way you study.
You have to have rest. No matter how you learn or what techniques your using to improve your learning, without a proper amount of rest it won't help you. For your efforts to improve your grades you have to have enough rest. Without rest you cannot store the new information learned.
There are specific techniques for each of the three learning types. Conventional education just teaches us one way, when in fact each individual should be catered to by their learning type. This is why some people have such trouble learning in school.
Learning differently isn't a detriment or a set back. It simply means you should use a specific approach to how you retain information. Once you do that, you'll see a noticable difference in your grades and the time it takes to learn will be less.
If you learn your learning type, use it to enhance the way you study and get enough rest you'll see a measurable increase in your grades. You'll also have to spend less time studying. It's all about learning how you learn.
