How To Learn Good Study Techniques- A Framework For Learning To Study

Having good study techniques is very important for success in school at every level: grade school, middle school, high school and college. Believe it or not, good study techniques will also help you throughout your adult life in any profession.

If you're just not naturally quick at learning new subject matter you should probably have a variety of study techniques in your arsenal. It will help when things get difficult or out of your comfort zone.

Do you know if you are a visual, auditory or kinesthetic learner? It is very important that you do. You can find tests to help you determine your learning style if you don't already know. You will learn better if you understand this about yourself.

Study in the same place at the same time. That should be your motto for learning. Be consistent with where and when you study. You will make faster improvement if you make studying a consistent habit.

Some people are morning people, some are night people. This could have an impact on what time of day you should study to help you learn better. You probably won't get much choice through High School but once you get to college your days will be mostly yours to organize.

Once you have the time and place down for studying you will need to apply the best style of study for you. Some people use repetition as a way of studying. The trick here is to make that repetition interesting so you don't get bored and disinterested or disengaged from what you are trying to learn. Another popular study technique is association. Try and associate the current subject matter with something you already know and understand well. By making this association it helps you comprehend the material better and faster. It also gives you the confidence that this is material you can learn and understand. Confidence may be one of the best study techniques there is.
